Despite significant advancements in pharmacological and interventional treatment options, heart diseases represent an increasingly common disorder that carries a poor long-term prognosis. Karger AG, BaselĪccounting for more than 3.9 million deaths a year, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the most common cause of death in Europe. Therefore, future strategies should aim at more personalized SC therapies in which individual disease parameters influence the selection of optimal cell type, dosage and delivery approach. Moreover, since cardiovascular diseases are complex disorders including several disease patterns and pathologic mechanisms it may be difficult to provide a uniform therapeutic intervention for all subgroups of patients. Based on these mechanisms, researchers have developed different improvement strategies to boost the potency of stem cell repair and to generate the “next generation” of stem cell therapeutics. In order to optimize stem cell efficiency, it is crucial to elucidate the underlying mechanisms mediating the beneficial effects of stem cell transplantation. However, results obtained from clinical studies are inconsistent and stem cell-based improvement of heart performance and cardiac remodeling was found to be quite limited. Since the first transplantation into human patients, several stem cell types have been applied in this field, including bone marrow derived stem cells, cardiac progenitors as well as embryonic stem cells and their derivatives. These artists brought refreshing new takes on tracks that many of us have listened to hundreds of times – we couldn’t be happier with them! Illenium – Awake (Remix Package) Full Tracklist: Illenium truly picked a stellar group of remixes for Awake, each one just as captivating as the last. The Crystal Skies euphoric spin on “Never Let You Go” will have you in your feels as well without a doubt. Some other highlights include Yoste‘s atmospheric, heavenly remix of “No Time Like Now” and Jason Ross’ progressive house remix of “Needed You”. He brings in an amazing melody in the bassline for the drop, complementing the tune of the vocals beautifully. His spin on “Taking Me Higher” is upbeat and sure to put a smile on your face, its quick house beat speeding up the original and getting you moving and grooving. The second drop is even better with wobbly bass shooting out from all angles.įelix Cartel is a perfect artist to remix Illenium in my eyes, and he delivered just as I expected he would. He hits you hard with a heavy and oh so pleasing dubstep drop, taking your ‘free fall’ to a whole new level. The Kompany remix begins much as anticipated, but as it begins to build towards the drop you realize this is no future bass track. Stream or purchase the Awake (Remix Package) on your favorite platform! The original version of “Free Fall” is a lighthearted, euphoric future bass track, so I expected something somewhat similar in the remix from Kompany. Listen to the full release below and read on for my take on some of the best remixes that were released! Listen to Illenium – Awake (Remixes) on Spotify: It’s hard to pick favorites amongst so much talent, but I have to say I’m absolutely loving the Kompany remix of “Free Fall” and Felix Cartel’s take on “Taking Me Higher”. While some tracks like The Glitch Mob’s deep and dirty remix of “Crawl Outta Love” and 1788-L, Said The Sky, Kerli, and Illenium’s VIP mix “Sound of Walking Away” were released early, most of the tracks just dropped yesterday with the remix package.
